I’m wondering just how hard it would be to sand my wood floors myself. They’re in pretty crummy shape already. I don’t think I could make them that much worse. Actually, a more important thought for myself would be: how easy is it to accidentally sand yourself with one of those machines?

I have used one of those machines and they work great. They do not get up close to the walls though and you will also need a hand held sander with some crawling around on your hands and knees! Tou will also need lots of sand paper.
If you can run an industrial buffer, you can run a sander. And if you can’t run an industrial buffer, you’re missin’ out on great fun!
And yes, you’ll sand yourself. LOL
